Today, I find myself excited, rushing around, making the luncheon preparations. My company was due to arrive in two hours. The decorations were up, the table was set. Now, to tackle slicing the watermelon. Halfway through the knife hit my thumb. It felt like it went to the bone.
Today, I find myself excited, rushing around, making the luncheon preparations. My company was due to arrive in two hours. The decorations were up, the table was set. Now, to tackle slicing the watermelon. Halfway through the knife hit my thumb. It felt like it went to the bone.
I quickly covered it and put pressure on it but it would not stop bleeding so after about 20 minutes off to the urgent care center I went. I waited and waited and waited some more while the blood continued to soak the paper towels and band aids that failed to contain it. Fifteen minutes latter I went back up to the front desk to get some tissue to add to the towels and such.
The gal at the desk said "oh let me tell them its a laceration, I thought it was just hurt." I suppose she didn't want me to bleed all over her desk. The nurse came right out and took me to the back and a few minutes later the PA checked out the cut (of course it stopped bleeding by then.) She cleaned and bandaged it gave me a tetanus shot and sent me on my way.
Although I was a little worried about the time and being able to get ready for company, it all worked out just fine. Just a little inconvenience. We had a great cook-out and visit. Believe it or not God was right there with me. I could hear His still quiet voice speaking to my heart "be still and know that I am God and I will see you through." And, he was, and, he did.
A couple of weeks later when I received the bill for just under $900.00 I was shocked but I was able to hold onto the fact that God has never failed me, He has seen me through so many kinds of trials and tribulations over the years, why should I not trust him to see me through now. I have been learning through experience that God never promised I would not have some thorns in my rose garden, but he is there seeing me through all the good times, as well as those less pleasant experiences in this life.
He tells us in his word that he will never leave us or, forsake us and I have found that to be so true.
